Some time ago there was a case of a ticket purchased in anotheer country (where the fare was cheaper than in the UK) was not honoured by the airline, because the first destination was incoming to the UK.
Does this still apply, I wonder?
Many thnaks for any help

ask the airline, just say a family member living in Dubai wants to purchase you a ticket, will they honour it .
When I lived in Dubai but long before it became a tourist spot, we always used to buy the tickets there and send them by DHL to the family member travelling from the UK, but rules do change.

Many thanks Dee Sa, will do as you suggest. My daughter is about to do the same for me, that you did for your family.
Appreciated. B.
