So many people ask these same questions, day after day, week after week, and for them it is very worrying, why doesnt A/B set up a special section just for this ?

I know, I was wonderingf that myself.

The amount of people that ask the question day in day out, it makes me think that the USA must be full of British hooligans, shoplifters and drunks!
I read that the US are going to make you pre-register your arrival 72 hours before entering the country, I think this is to stop the waiver system although in 72 hours will they be able to do any necessary checks for everyone?

tks for th input guys, pray tell me how the US authorities are going to make a plane load of Brits[ or passengers] which must be about 350 + people pre-register 72 hours before arrival, will there be passengers turned away at check in if they have no proof they have conformed, not impossible but sounds very confusing.
I don't know how they will make it work, but here is a link - I originally read it in the Daily Telegraph, but have just found this link http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/06/03/us_vis a_scheme/
If people who were posting actually checked the site as they are prompted to do before posting, they would see the previous postings and answers.

On the other points, I have a feeling I know how the system will work if the 72 hours notice of flying is instigated. You give your details beforehand to the airline who submit them. When you arrive at the airport, you put your passport in a machine and, if approved, you get a computer readable card which you keep with you until you get through at the other end, have your holiday and then leave the country. You will have to enter the card in another machine at the airport before you fly back to confirm that you have left the country. If you can't get the card from the machine initially, you can't go as the airline will not allow you on board.

yes what you say does seem workable, but what about the poor bu*gers who get to the airport and get refused ? if they are flying charter I doubt they will get their money back and obviously they are there all cases packed and nowhere to go ! what a let down especially if you have the kids with you.
Undoubtedly an inconveniece Dee but surely better than being refused at the other end and having to pack your family back onto the plane for a flight home immedately. The answer is stay crime free, observe the rules and you will not have a problrm. The only difficulties will be for the bunch of scrotes who usually try to lie to the Yanks to go to Disneyland..

I make you right loonytunes, but are we [ the British] going to go to the same extreme measures when they enter our little island ?
