The Transport Scotland National Entitlement Card is entirely separate from the new pass in England. Scottish passes can't be used in England, and vice versa. There seem to be no plans to integrate the two schemes.

In many areas, if you can prove you are over 60 then they can issue you with a reduced fare but probably not a free fare

Sorry Pink-kittens, but in Scotland if you're over 60 you are entitled to a concessionary bus pass which allows you to travel free by bus anywhere in mainland Scotland (except night buses and tours). If you've mental or physical health problems you can get one which allows you to take a companion as well. Also you get one-third off local train travel.
