All you have to do Sushila is 'phone your doctor, tell her/him where you're going exactly, then s/he will tell you to come back for an appointment. During this time, s/he will have got the latest print-out of vaccinations needed for the place you're going. S/He will then compare them against your medical record to see which, if any, you've already had. Then you get injected/plied with the rest.
India? all you can think of if you really try. Some of my friends went there a couple of months ago and did exactly that before and still - you would not believe what they brought home with them. I forgot the name but it includen skin peeling off and oozing ulcers. But don't let that keep you from anything.
I went to a Nepal and didn't get anything worse than a stomach ache, so i wouldn't worry. The only things i would recommend (once you're there): Drink Bottled water only, check the seal. Wipe the top of glass bottles before you drink from them. Don't have ice cubes, they're always made from tap water. Only eat hot or frozen food, nothing from markets etc without cooking. Be wary of people who offer to carry your bags at the airport, & animals/pets. If one person orders food for all in a restaurant it'll come on one plate(!). Finally, collect as many business cards for your hotel / favourite restaurants / shopping districts as you can, because the taxi driver won't know where it is.
