Have signed up but engineer not due til next week. Main reasons being a) wireless so daughter can use laptop in bedroom and free-up pc for me and, more importantly, b) TV reception useless.(Analog 3,4 & 5 snowy - Can't get half of Digital Channels including 3, 4 & 5) This was put down to willow tree at back of house which had grown to twice height of house and, when in leaf, was blocking signal to aerial. Council chopped tree down yesterday on safety grounds. Reception no different. Current aerial quite new and up to eighteen months ago reception was fine and all available channels could be watched.. TV is Sony with integral digital works. Having been under the impression that with BT , the TV pictures come down the phone line cancelling the need for an outside aerial, a work colleague has since informed me that even with BT Toal TV Package, an aerial connection is essential. If this is the case, will reception still be terrible. What do I do? Cancel Total Broadband?

It looks like you do need an aerial - if you get bad reception now, this bt package will not improve it.

Have you looked at Virgin? Their tv comes down a cable, totally independent of the aerial. You can also go wireless.
I'd cancel it now anyway. I signed up, mainly because of the cheaper rental offer for six months, then ended up with a mega phone bill (no, not a megaphone bill!) because I didn't set it up straight away and was using dial up until I did. Then my phones won't take messages, and I couldn't get any calls on one line. Worst thing I ever did. Run! Save yourself! Get out now!
