Water or Electric ??
Question Author
electric
The UAE uses a 220V electrical supply (which, within normal tolerances, can be considered the same as our 230V system). The supply is at 50Hz (the same as in the UK) and the plugs are the same ones which we use. (i.e. you can simply plug in your UK appliances, without any adapters or transformers).

Thankyou very much
The UAE are one of the few places outside the UK where the UK plug/socket is found in most places, but I think possibly not utterly everywhere. If you have an adaptor to link you to the very common European two pin socket you should take one along - Poundland sell a packet of two for a pound (you will need it more or less everywhere you travel except USA, Japan, Australia and the UK).
Have a look at this page for a picture of the 220V power plug that you need in Dubai:

Does anyone know about plumbing connection though. We are moving to Dubai soon and want to know whether the Washing machine and dishwasher water connections are the same over there as here in the uk
