Hi has anyone ever heard of LCI Travel. I know there is one near me in Wakefield, West Yorks but don't know if they have other branches. Basically they have contacted me tonight and given me the spiel about a free holiday where we attend a presentation and can pay 34.50 each for the holiday. They insist there is no catch we choose when we go, where we go and all we have to do is attend the presentation. I have heard about these holiday clubs before and always refused them in the past but this time curiousity has got the better of me and we are going to go. Have any of you ever done anything similar and has it been a rip off or not?

Thanks for your info I have absoulutely no intention of signing up for anything I am definitely not the sort of person who will! But I am still curious if you refuse to sign up which I will, will I still get a 'free' holiday? By the way we are not having any holiday this year due to a death in the family which meant us cancelling our originally booked holiday to Florida so anything which was extremely cheap would be a possibility for us to actually have a break away. Personally I am not bothered where but would love to have a week in the sun but would definately not sign up for any holiday club is it still possible to take the cheap week and say no thanks?
Often these "free" holidays have all sorts of catches.

Such as "you have to fly out from Aberdeen tomorrow and fly back to Plymouth when you return".

When you say that is too short a notice they say "sorry, we offered you a free holiday and you turned it down".

Or we had one here on Answerbank a few weeks ago that was by COACH to Austria & Germany.

The initial cost was low, but then you had to pay extra for meals, then extras for excursions and so on.
By the way.

There are loads of holidays going cheap as not enough people have booked.

Go into your local travel agent and say yopu are looking for a cheap deal, I am sure you can find a cheap holiday somewhere.

Go to the link below for someone who booked a cheap holiday to Malta.
