for how long are metro tickets valid in rome?

visited rome last february and bought 2 sets of metro tickets from the main train station metro point to the vatican. never got to use them and still have them. wondered if they could still be used. i ve just looked on the tickets and the date on them is 1st jan 06 which the machine must have printed wrongly, we bought them on the 18th feb. if they can still be used, they are free to a good home otherwise will just get thrown away.

My memory of the metro tickets was that they had to be used within 2 hours (or some short period like that).

perhaps we didnt know what we were doing then.it does say on the ticket, valid travel 75 minutes in italian of course but thought this was the length of the journey time that we could use it for . i think you are correct unless anyone else know different!???? thanks for your reply kags!!
That's my understanding too. You buy the tickets and then have 75 minutes to undertake your journey.
Yep. Being there twice in recent years and those tickets are only valid for 75 minutes! I can confirm. They are useless now!
