I'd like to drive along the windy road near/to Cortina in Italy. I believe it has something like 52 bends along its length! However, I'm not sure which Cortina it is near as when I search Multimap, it lists 6 of them! I'd also like to know how easy that road would be to get to from Rome. Can anyone please help? T.I.A.

"The road between Bolzano and Cortina d' Ampezzo is, as some will tell you, 'pure torture(!)'. Many twists, turns, and cut backs along the narrow road upward, but do not miss this trip! For the faint of heart, there are buses making the daily journey from either Bolzono or Cortina. This is a spectacular trip and provides one of Europes great senic pleasures. If you can keep your eyes on the road, and make lots of stops to enjoy the marvelous vistas, go ahead and drive your own car--we have and haven't find it as treacherous as some would have you believe."

To find out how to get there, and for all European route planning, forget Multimap. ViaMichelin is in a class of its own:

Aaaagh!!

AB's done it again! The automatic censorship system has spotted the successive letters y, i & d in that link and thinks that I'm being anti-semitic!
