My wife and I (both pensioners) are going to Ireland later this month for 8 days, and have bought single-trip cover for �29.72 from Go Travel Insurance. We did it by 'phone - the advisor said we could have got it a bit cheaper from their website at www.gtis.co.uk but I couldn't be bothered

Yes there are cheap ones out there but each one covers you different amounts for different circumstances. Do read them carefully and then decide what needs covering most importantly to you.
