Does anyone share my concerns? I am due to fly with Qatar airways to Nepal in October and i'm feeling increasingly worried about the flight due to the recent terrorism threats in the news. I know I shouldn't, but I am aware that it is an airline frequently used by muslims and arabs and, because of recent events, I can't help but be worried. Am I being irrational? Is it wrong to feel this way??

your certianly not irratinonal. anyone having to fly will feel aprehensive after what has gone on, and with having to travel on this particualar airline it is understandable that you are conserned, it has been said that if we change our plans this is the terrorist winning, so we must carry on as normal as possible, do not let them make us feel fear. remember the reason you are going, maybe its a trip of a life time for you maybe work takes you threre you might even be going to clim mount everest, do not let them spoil your dreams. good luck.
Don,t worry about it. Our Passport Control Officers will be in uniforms by the time you fly. No terrorist would dare to try to get past them.

You can also buy drinks once you are airside so no need to worry about "drinkbombs". No self respecting suicide bomber would get his mate who works airside to get him to give him his "drink" which he can take on board the aircraft.

Dont worry..........just go, I was being flippant
bill barlow, what the heck is a "self respecting suicide bomber" when he's at home? Although, I have to hand it to you, I never thought I'd have to laugh on reading such a serious subject.
Listen crj1978 , if only you realised how lucky you are! How many other people, from this gray, damp, congested land do you think can look forward to what would be the trip of a lifetime like flying to Nepal?
So,... ... ... worrying serves no purpose; however, be vigilant by all means, although you have made me jelous!
Good Trip. . .
Yes, go. Imagine if you stayed at home and got run down by a bus - it is far more likely!
My son and his new wife will be flying to the States in September for their honeymoon, he already knew he would be where the hurricanes are predicted. Like he says, they'll get blown away, blown to bits or have a wonderful time and come back perfectly safely which is by far the most likely of the three and no-one's going to tell him how to live his life. Go on your trip and have a great time.
Personally I would feel safer on an airline used by muslims. Its an airline with a US owner or full of Americans that would worry me the most. I guess ultimately only you can make a judgement on personal risk, but as with all such situations if you consider it's not safe to fly when do you decide that this situation changes?
