You can't shame them. They are shameless.
unfortunatly there are always people out there ready to make money by any means, these people have no concience, always be on your guard when having money
transactions, never take things at face value, if something sounds to good to be true, then it probably is.

hi robert.
there is one scam going around at the moment,
where you get a phone call telling you that your name has
been selected, from a mailing list, they then give you a number to call, if you then call the number, they keep you answeing questions for about five or six minutes, & you are charged @ 150 minute. And guess what your prize turns out to be somthing like a cheap pen.
Ray.
I am afraid many of the people who are cheated let themselves be cheated by greed or whatever.

I am afraid it is getting to the stage nowadays where I trust nobody who phones me, nobody who knocks on my front door, and none of the e-mails I get.

I also shred all my junk mail and bank statements etc.

It is such a shame to become so untrusting but there are so many con people out there you have to be very careful.

Take Care Phone call charging scam

If you receive a card through your door from a company called PDS(Parcel Delivery Services) saying they have a parcel awaiting delivery instructions and can you contact them on 0906 6611911. DO NOT CALLTHE NUMBER IT IS A MAIL SCAM.

If you call this number and you start to hear a recorded message, you will already have been billed between 15 - 25 for a phone call.

If you receive a card with these details, then please contact Royal Mail Fraud on 020 7239 6655 or ICTIS at http://www.ictis.org.uk or your local trading standards office. This is a genuine scam.

PLEASE SHARE THIS INFORMATION WITH COLLEAGUES, FRIENDS AND FAMILY.

I heard about a con recently that was new to me.

A person asks you to put a large bet on a horse on an internet web site. You are told it is because the person has been banned from the site for winning too much money.

You are told it is a cert, and you will get a chunk of the winnings.

If the horse does win you get your chuck, but you are then asked to put another bet on.

If the horse loses you never hear from the people again and you have lost your money.

The scammers make their money by finding a race with 5 or 6 runners and asking a different person to bet on each horse.

Of course only one will win, so they take their winnings from that, and ignore the people who lost.

One lady lost 5,000 pounds of her own money, but she did admit it was her greed that made her go ahead with it.
Everhelpful - please don't disseminate disinformation. You will NOT have already been charged 15-25 for a phone call as soon as the number answers. You will be charged 1.50 a minute once it answers. Bad enough, yes.

When you call them the company doing the scam will probably ask you to pay 15-25 for delivery of the parcel which will contain a small item worth a pound or two at most. That's the main scam.

dzug,What does disseminate disinformation mean? It's not in my Dictionary.
never ring an 09 number, ever , that is a start.
Never reply, or open ,an email that you do not know especially that has an attachment.
Never give anybody ,EVER, a PIN or security password.
Tell those you ring that you do not know to p**ss off, I do.
Shred junk mail
Have a notice on the door saying no callers, just point to it if they do( through the window).

never believe anything you hear and only half of what you see.
The word FREE does not exist, it is an illusion that idiots only can see.
Follow that advice and you will be halfway safe.
Use professionals that can be sued for services, as for cars well- you are in a bear pit so go armed!
