corfu or ctrete

My husband and I are looking to have a week away in late sept. but would like to know which is the best place to go Corfu or Crete.? also we would like to know what the weather may be like and if if is still beach temp.

Both nice - both Greek, both islands, with choices of busy or quiet locations, both have beaches - Crete will be warmer as further south though if that is important.

It really will depend on your preference for maybe the travel time, accessible flights, cost - where to stay - s/catering apartment or in a villa, in a town or up in the hills or by the beach in a village or on a resort . . .

If you want to get away from things a bit, I would say go to Crete - but Corfu has some lovely secluded locations still as well.

You'll enjoy whichever, but if you want some reviews to go over, have a look at http://www.tripadvisor.com and search Crete or Corfu and see what other travellers say - has hotels as well as country opinions in case you've not seen it before and want to check a place before you book.

I've been to Corfu twice in late September and both times it was roasting hot!

been to both recommend both but crete just has the edge, late september loverly time to go crete will be hotter than corfu as corfu's weather will be changeable at that time of year, it also depends in corfu where you go as it can be to 'englishy' . the cretens are fantastic people as are most of the greeks all the islands are beautiful, but the nearer to turkey ones are hotter for longer

You might have already booked but we loved both for different reasons. Corfu much greener with the cyrprus trees and Crete has fabulous beaches on the South West and North West past Chania is quieter. Dont think you can go wrong with either. You could try Corfu websites to see the reviews.
