Hotel in Rome

Does anyone know of a nice but not extortionate hotel in the centre of Rome - I am thinking of going in September/October.

You may want to check on venere.com. They usually have hotles with reviews posted by travellers who have stayed at those hotels.

I am going to Rome next week and will be staying at the Mariano hotel. One thing very important to me is service, and with a smile and courtesy, friendliness and helpfulness, always.

I noted that the Mariano had many reviews and that from these reviews that the almost all the guests who stayed ta the Mariano had complimentary things to say about it,; this is unusual, as you will see if you read the reviews on other hotels.

All the guests mentioned the friendly helpful staff. As a first time traveller who speaks no italian, this is even more important than usual, to me.

The one or two former guests who had something uncomplimentary to say, regarding the breakfast, also, however, mentioned the friendly staff.
