Dont bother taking any food as it will "go off" in the heat before you even get there (unless its in a cool bag with ice) -( heavy-) you might also get a delayed flight? you will get a cooked breakfast cheap anyway at most cafe type places. have a look at this for info on where youre staying, www.holidaysuncovered.co.uk. have a lovely time!(i love any greek isle for a holiday)
I agree with patriciaH, go for the local produce. However, (and it's a big one!!) I have always found it nigh on impossible to buy marmalade anywhere on the continent, including Greece. So, if you want to really enjoy your yogurt and honey on the balcony, take your own marmalade!!!
Good advice waimarie.i always take my own tea, coffee, whitener & travel kettle! cant be doing without my morning cuppa!
I went to Kos last september for just one week - didn't spend over 150 quid, and that was eating out every night, a good few drinks every night, day trip to Kos Town, boat trip to Turkey and a bit of shopping. It's just as cheap to eat out as it is to cook. Unless you're planning on a huge amount of eating/drinking/sightseeing, 350 quid for one person would easily cover you for a fortnight.
Zante probably has more English- and Australian- run pubs, cafes, etc. than anywhere else in Greece. So I don't think you'll find breakfast a problem. It's also one of the cheapest islands in terms of restaurants, tavernas etc.
