Glasgow. have a look at:

(Start in Germany - there's less to look through to find it)

nobody flies direct, but air berlin advertise a connection via stansted. careful with budget "connections" though, particularly when there's only 1 flight per day. you might be better flying to dusseldorf or dortmund then getting the train - they're awfully frequent in the ruhr/westfalen area.
There are no direct flights from Scotland to Mnster-Osnabrck Airport. This is confirmed by this map on the airport's website:
http://www.flughafen-fmo.de/index.php?menu1=3&nid=63

The nearest airport served from Scotland is Dsseldorf. This is served by Ryanair flights from Prestwick:
http://www.ryanair.com/site/EN/

The rail station at Dsseldorf Airport is within the terminal complex. Some trains to Mnster run direct. (Typical journey time = 1 hour 12minutes). At other times you need to change at Duisburg. (Typical journey time = 1 hour 24 minutes). Full details of rail times can be found here:

Hoping this helps,

Chris
Ryanair don't fly to Dusseldorf but to "Dusseldorf", aka Weeze which is 78km from the city that Ryanair purports to serve. Weeze station is 5mn by taxi from the airport with 30mn service to Krefeld, by changing there and Duisburg you could probably reach Munster in 2-3 hours.
My thanks go to Mushroom25 for spotting the flaw in my plans. (I thought I knew most of the misleading destinations that Ryanair list. I took care to specify 'Prestwick', avoiding Ryanair's name of 'Glasgow', but failed to take enough care at the other end).

An alternative would be to fly from (the real) Edinburgh Airport to (the real) Cologne-Bonn Airport with German Wings:
http://www21.germanwings.com
Cologne-Bonn Airport has its own rail station. It takes about two and a quarter hours to get to Mnster, with one change (which might be at Cologne, Duisburg or Essen).

Apologies for the previous error. I hope that I've got it right this time!

Chris
having travelled frequently to Rheine over the past few years my route of choice to Westfalen, although it takes longer, is via Amsterdam, because of the better flight choices. For Munster, take train every 30mn from Schiphol to Enschede (every 2nd train involves cross-platform change at Amersfoort) then by local direct to Munster.
