I wouldn't fancy arriving on holiday in Italy right now. Other places also affected.
Would you?

No, there's such a thing as "too hot" ...
Only by about 25 degrees!
I'm waiting to hear from my daughter whether her partner's family are affected...though they are in the North.
Oh, and my answer is "hell no"
The Italians are renowned for having some of the best Chef's in the world. However there is an old expression 'If you can stand the heat stay out of the kitchen'
I'm in no dash to go there... I much prefer cooler climes.

Hottest for me was 37 and that was too hot - in Majorca.

Arksided - can't stand the heat^^ ?
Hottest for me was in Malta. 92F I think, I literally felt like my flesh was melting off my bones.
it was hotter than that last year here

Which is one of life's enduring mysteries. Considering their two principle dishes are variations of cheese on toast and a flour and water concoction in different shapes and sizes which are all billed as "different", one has to wonder how their chefs manage.
Agreed NJ. :-) shuss don't let on to them that we know.
That is funny NJ. You made me snort.

I can't stand the heat either.
NJ...Both those 'principal dishes' started out as filling peasant food and were brought to other countries by immigrants. One of those concoctions bears a strong resemblance to cheese on toast...or the slightly more complex Welsh Rarebit.
I'm sure you're well aware that there is much more to Italian cuisine.
Hottest for me was any number of NY summers...close to, or above 100f.
I couldn't bear it now.
I have been in The Balkans when it was around 40C. It was very humid as well. Horrendous!

25C is enough for me!
The Algarve is in the mid 30s. Only one fire that was quickly extinguished. I am up in Esposende, just outside Porto, with granddaughter at intensive riding camp. Rained all day yesterday! Today sunny with a cool breeze at 23 degrees delightful
40C is awful. We had it here in central rural France last summer, and had to spend time in the cellar to cope with it. Even the wine felt the pain.
Hottest places I have been to are the Alhambra in Granada, Spain and Mount Masada next to the dead sea in Israel both in the mid to high 40s.
I don't want a foreign holiday anyway, although I know someone who is flying to Zante next week. Maybe frying when they get there!
It is too hot for comfort, and of course dangerous for ill and vulnerable people.
No! Stay in good old England.
