With Kinsale having a population of under 5,300 people, you're not exactly spoilt for choice around there!

The only two companies listed by goldenpages.ie (which is the Irish equivalent of Yell.com), which have any online reviews, are Kinsale Cabs (021 - 477 2642) and Cab 3000 (021 - 477 3000).

A problem with looking at taxi reviews though is that 100 people could have a perfectly good experience but (because they see it as nothing out of the ordinary) fail to post any positive comments, whereas the 1 person who has poor experience is quick to moan online. For what it's worth though, Cab 3000 has a slightly better average review score (3.3/5) on Google than Kinsale Cabs has (3.0/5).

To read the reviews, click here

and here

and then click on the 'Google reviews' link in the right-hand panel.
The Irish equivalent of Yellow Pages is Golden Pages? That's made my night. Thanks Chris.

Thanks Chris. Kinsale Cabs have some bad reviews. I have emailed them for rates and they haven’t bothered replying. Cab 3000 don’t seem to have an email address…
Phone calls from the UK to Ireland generally aren't wildly expensive.

BT charges about 21p per minute from a landline, as does Vodafone from a mobile phone.

My own mobile provider (Asda Mobile) charges 15p per minute.

EE charges 18p per minute on PAYG or 22p per minute on a contract.

Three is ludicrously expensive (£1.50 per minute) on PAYG but only about 20p per minute on a contract.

Smarty charges 19p per minute, as does Tesco Mobile.

Giffgaff charges just 6p per minute.

So, unless you're with Three on PAYG, it's not going to cost you mega-bucks to make a short call to Cab 3000.

From a landline, call 00 353 21 477 3000.

From a mobile, call +353 21 477 3000.
(With most mobile phones, long-press the '0' to get a '+').

Well Kinsale Cabs want €50 for a one way journey and Cab 3000’s mailbox is full so I can’t leave a message!! Anyone live in Kinsale and want to earn a few euros please??
Do they not have Uber service
Smurf, where do you want to get to?
Try calling Cab 3000 at a different time. You might then find that calls don't go to voicemail. (If the situation in rural Ireland is similar to that in many parts of rural Suffolk, taxi offices only operate during normal office hours, sometimes only from Monday to Friday. You can a taxi at any other time but it's essential to book it beforehand, making your call when the office is open).

You've not said where you'll be travelling to/from but, as guide, the official Transport for Ireland website estimates that the taxi fare between Kinsale and Cork Airport (10 miles away) will normally be between €35.00 and €52.60, depending upon traffic conditions, but dearer on Sundays, public holidays and between 8pm and 8am:
