How many service station users are really customers? I bet most people only use the free toilet
Question Author
It’s the toilet users, the women anyway, who I could write the book about. I don’t know what to call them other than customers.
so what do they do in the ladies khazi? Other than the basics!
Question Author
They go in, stand in the middle blocking everyone else, ignore the BIG sign telling them there are more toilets just round the corner which are always empty.
I go in, gently push each door as I walk through to see if the cubicle is empty, and carry on till I find an empty one.
Meanwhile, those dopey ladies are still standing there, queuing, even though I’ve pointed out the sign! There’s polite, and then there’s stupid :(
Question Author
And then there’s the coach parties.
Groups of men and women enter the service station and stand there, just inside the entrance, blocking anyone else from getting in, completely oblivious to the pile up behind them.
And those in M&S food or Waitrose, dawdling about, seemingly doing their weekly shop!!!
Get out of my way! I just want a quick wee, grab a sandwich and be on my way!!!!
It would be a very short and boring book then...
It's what I find in or on the toilets that freaks me out, bleurgghh!
Question Author
Believe me Corby, there’s lots more, those few are just the tip of the iceberg.
People watching and behavioural observation is fascinating at service stations.
