Just curious in terms of ease of use etc

obviosuly having lots of either open is going to slow you down a bit etc, but i tend to have a lot of stuff open at once.

I regularly go through closing anything i dont need, but wondering generally what is most efficient?
More windows with fewer tabs open?
OR
Fewer browser windows with more tabs?

Sometimes I have about 7 windows and sometimes hundreds of tabs open in most of them, and its usually fine either way.

Although both ways are fine , I assume there is probably a way the machine 'prefers', in order to fuction at its best?

Im mainly on firefox, but i do use others too. i assume the answer is more about the machine than the browser itself ...?

any thoughts?
thanks :)

If youre on Windows then open your Task Manager and see what the memory usage and processor usage hit is...then you can decide
The more you have open the more ram you use so your machine will run slower especially if you dont have a lot to start with. The bare minimum for current windows and programs is 8gb. I cant see any good reason for having more than 2-3 windows open.
How do you keep tabs on hundreds of open tabs? It doesn't take long to open a webpage. I keep 12 open, the rest I open and close as and when needed
I use lots of browsers with lots of windows with lots of tabs. (And can never find what I'm looking for.)
Tabs for me when on-line... everything else a separate window.

However if you open another window using the same browser using less tabs (sharing the no. of different tabs) it would make it easier for yourself, which I believe wouldn't make that much difference.

As suggested though try task manager.
