He was sunk without trace and good riddance to him.
There was no rigging, intentional or otherwise: in fact if anything he had the advantage of his name actually being in large letters on the ballot paper.
I’m sure he’d have got more votes had there not been a Brexit and a UKIP party standing also, but I think it’s a heartening confirmation that whatever motivates people to vote for populist outfits like the Brexit Party, it’s a long way from the nasty streak of bigotry with which Yaxley Lennon and his ilk, many now also beached in what is left of UKIP, are shot through.
