going there shortly - being typically female, need to take hotbrush and dryer etc. Do the adaptors sold at airports work there?

On the back of the packaging of adaptors, it will tell you which zones are suitable. Choose the one that includes America.

I suspect that they will be on US voltage which means that, if you have UK or European devices, they will not work properly.
you need the plug with two flat pins but I always find they take longer to heat up. Some hotels provide hair dryers. I bought some curling tongs when I was there because as I said, the curlers didn't seem to heat up very quickly. Have a Good Holiday.

I travel a lot to Jamaica,the same voltage as the Bahamas and my straighteners won't work there...ie they don't get hot enough.The best thing I bought was a GHD travel hairdryer which is tiny but has dual voltage so you flick a switch and it works brilliantly.Hope this helps.(It cost about �20 from my local salon)

Sorry forgot to add you still need the 2 pin adaptor like you use for the US
