Every other nation in the world accepts that Tel Aviv is the place for a foreign Embassy. This move by Trump will jeopardise any Middle East peace process, and cause widespread rioting and loss of life. Is there no end to this mans madness ?

Trump- the ticking time bomb.
not sure why this is such a big deal, It's a city in Israel and they want it to be their capital. Not even clear why it's necessary for any world leader to recognise a capital city anyway.

Danny....I am waiting for our resident Trumpettes to come to his rescue over this latest move !
can't you call them Trump supporters, Trumpettes sounds like a high school cheerleading band.
...reel em in!
surely every nation has the right to pick and choose it's own capital city? Even NK are afforded this.
Israelis regard Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and this suggestion has been kicking around for a long time. I'm still pondering the whys, wherefores, and implications of it and wondering whether it would be make ... or break.
TTT, it's a sensitive issue because the Palestinians regard east Jerusalem as their capital in waiting - once a two state solution is formulated and agreed that is. Personally I have my doubts it will ever happen, but that remains to be seen.

TTT...Trump doing this will be seen as inflammatory, and the last that this part of the globe needs is more petrol being poured onto the fire.
very logical, they claim half a city in another country as their capital? right oh! It' like us claiming downtown Sidney as ours!
Question Author
TTT...from that remark you show a complete lack of understanding about the problem. Its got bog all to do with Oz.
TTT, for them it isn't 'another country'. It's their country. For thousands of years that scrap of land has been Palestine - until the middle of the 20th century when the 'powers that were' decided otherwise and called it Israel. The Palestinians really do have a genuine grievance.

For once I support what Naomi is saying (!)

Perhaps you need to study the situation a little more TTT, before making any more daft remarks.
Emmie, //Trumpettes sounds like a high school cheerleading band.//

hereIam and I have agreed to apply for Britain's Got Talent. ;o)
yes they have a grievance, hiwever my comments are based on the current configuration.
Every day you think Trump can't get any worse and then he just goes out and does it.
Question Author
Eddie...its never-ending. But you would have thought that wiser minds in the White House would have taken him to one side, and said.....please, for Gods sake Donald... don't do this !

Perhaps they have, of course, and he just won't listen.

I wonder what Tillerson thinks about this ?
Naomi will look forward to that.
I am sure I was probably dimly aware that embassies were in Tel Aviv rather than Jerusalem, but to be honest this is essentially the first time I really knew what that meant and that there was any kind of diplomatic row here.

So I have literally nothing to add to this.
