Has anyone transitted through Schiphol since the rules changed about duty free? Allegedly you can now take duty free onto your onward flight as long as it's sealed, in the past this wasn't allowed. We're joining a U.S. flight and I was wondering if it applies to those flights too. They apparently have done away with gate security. Their website isn't clear on this. Ta.

"Effective 28 January 2014, new rules on carrying liquids and gels apply to transfer passengers at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. As of 28 January 2014, transfer passengers are again permitted to carry the liquids and gels purchased at another airport or on the aircraft onto their transfer flights departing from Schiphol. The receipt should also be inside the original sealed bag. The original sealed bag must comply with the rules of the ICAO. "

Thanks for that, I had seen that, but we went through Schiphol in 20014, after this date and the US flights seemed the same, gate security etc. and I was wondering if that is still the same. The US flights sometimes impose a higher level of security.
