Anciently in their collective psyche?
I remember they projected their worries about the Red Menace into the skies in the shape of UFOs.

O god I thought you meant anciently
....
and thought well it wasnt that long ago we shared the same collective psyche .....

Zee-nation has just finished on british tee vee as well
and we anglos just arent as fixated by zombies - or for that matter that the federal govt is bent on dispossessing the liberal yankees of their ancient rights ( like bearing arms ) . I mean can you think of any Mandarin in whitehall in any other way than a greedy entitled time-server

yeah and whenever I see The End of Times, Tribulation
I reach for the zap sqwitch
Well it goes in cycles of what's popularly something to worry about and portray on film - off the cuff I'd say it was aliens in the 70s, serial killers with a penchant for highschool kids in the 80s, lots of vampire stuff in the 90s, the undead at the moment, what have I missed?
