(To save you googling it, 1000 Krona = £5.21)
Working on a rough figure of 200k = £1 it doesn't look as expensive as at first made out, especially in comparison with other Scandinavian countries.
As anywhere else, much depends on the choice of restaurant and items on its menu. Also, it is worth asking around among other travellers within your location and/or guests at the hotel. Local people will also be of help, including at information centres. Note that the Icelandic currency is not internationally convertible so if you find you have kronur left over at the end of your stay it is strongly advisable to exchange them back for the currency of your choice before leaving - there is a bank at the airport and it is open at all times when flights are arriving/leaving.

Arrrrrrh why do half my posts not stick and only post the first line?
£16 a glass of wine.......take as much booze in as your allowance permits,....a bottle of a reasonable scotch goes a long way.....
4 years ago a bowl of soup in a roadside cafe cost me £8.50 equivalent
And a very simple meal for one at the airport cost about £50.
Heaven knows what food costs there now !
If I saw Hakarl on the menu I'd give it a miss however low the price. It's rotten shark flesh.
