Who told you it's cold ??

Depending on when you're going, the lowest night time temperature (average) is in Jan and Feb and it only falls to 14 deg C (57 deg F).

Gismonster, Went in Feb/2011 Evening and nights definitely cold with a wind,
had to ask for extra blankets 3 at least.
14 deg C at night is just the average temp, so it looks like you were unlucky and went when there was a cold spell.
In answer to your original question, I can't help you soz :(
RIU hotels excellent but not the cheapest. All 4 star and above. You can find them on the web.

Just for Gizmonster, ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ :)
Rubicon Palace or H10 in Playa Blanca are both quite good.
San Antonio, Puerto Del Carmen, It is a great hotel right on the beach we went in May and November and weather was great naturally there will be breeze as you are on the Atlantic, bring a jacket for evening but hotel rooms warm and extra blankets available just have a nice warm night cap in the bar before bed.
