Can anyone recommend a hotel in Blackpool area that would be a nice place to stay over Christmas?
my mum passed away this summer, and i'm dreading christmas. we've all agreed we need to do something different than our usual quiet christmas, always spent with mum.
I would like to go away but my husband is only off 25th and 26th, so would need to stay local. As we live in Blackpool, there is plenty of choice!
We would like somewhere with a bit of entertainment but not tacky, with comfortable enough rooms to relax in, for those that want to.
There is so much choice I don't know where to start!

I've stayed at the Imperial Hotel which was very nice. Not stayed there over Christmas though.
The Hilton is very nice. We were there in July and again last Thursday.
They were advertising Christmas but didn't pay any attention to it.

OK, it's not Blackpool, but it is only about an hour up the M6
If you want somewhere that is not tacky, than get as far away from Blackpool as possible !
You should check Trip Advisor or Google any sites that offers reviews when it comes hotels around your area. I would agree with mikey, if you want to be entertained you should go far from the comfort zone you have. Also, you should book now as early as possible because hotels at Christmas season gets fully loaded sometimes.
