last time i went to tenerife, it was 1euro per hour in the internet cafe

It was free when i went. In my experience most hotels have a wifi code that is either free or gives access for say 24 hours for a small fee

Go into an internet café, there are loads on Tenerife. Don't use it in your hotel, it costs more. Whatever you do, don't access the internet via a UK mobile phone, it'll cost the earth.

Lots of bars have free wifi that you can use with your smartphone, tablet, laptop.
Many hotels have free wifi in public areas too.

Just make sure you turn 'roaming' on your phone off before the plane even lands.

As already suggested, use an internet cafe - they're a lot cheaper than using your mobile phone ..... as I found out in Tenerife last Xmas.

..... and don't forget to turn roaming off, cos if you're using a smart phone, some of the apps automatically connect to the internet.
