How long does it take to drive from London to Brighton and vice versa?

According to the AA Route Planner, Trafalgar Square to Brighton Central Station would take 1 hour 25 minutes and the same for the return trip.

This would, of course, depend on the traffic conditions.

I would say that it will take slighty longer if you go down the A3, this road just lately is not the most reliable for being clear. (No speed cameras though).

Depends on which bit of London you are going from and on traffic. From South London you could access the A23, take the M23 past Gatwick and then A23 rest of the way. I would allow 2 hours.

For North London you may be better to get onto the M25 then round to the M23 exit and it may take longer.

If you went down the A3 you'd have ended up in Portsmouth and there are definately speed cameras there!
