I have researched famous jewellers, used the Gazeteer but still ne luck. Thank you.

I had that but could't find it. Have checked it out. Don't like the clue, rings don't have corners!!!!

the "ring" may refer to a boxing ring, which has corners.
Hi,MARJORYGOOD,it took me a wee while to figure out the boxing ring. My first thought was jewellery rings(as females do!)
