We have always done stay and park at Gatwick but our flight times this time are such that we will be silly to do that. Can anyone recommend a car park please? we do have a 'high' vehicle therefore anything with a barrier isnt any good. There are so many to chose from and i am wary of handing over my keys and letting them park i would much prefer to park and take my keys with me. thank you.

I just use the main long stay one (North Terminal). I can`t be bothered faffing around going off airport to save a few quid. It was called NCP flightpark or flightpath but it`s changed it`s name. If you book beforehand via the internet I think you get it a bit cheaper. Then you just drive in and drive out. You don`t have to go into a booth or anything. Last time I was there they were very full and had stopped taking bookings 24 hours before so you might want to do it a bit before that. I think it only serves the N Term. There must be a S Terminal one somewhere.

yes now you say im sure we used that a while ago, i think thats why i am getting confused because i would know that name if i saw it. Now i need to find out what it is called now.
I`ve just googled it. It now goes by the very original name of Long Stay North. There`s a Long Stay South too. Just before the Long Stay North there is a turning for a car park called Summer Special. I haven`t been there but it might be worth googling prices.
The “Summer Special” car parks (which are available at both North and South terminals) involve you handing over your keys. The ordinary long term car parks are those where you find your own space and keep your keys. Both, as far as I can recall, have no height restrictions. The prices for each of them are virtually identical, and are not much more expensive than the off-site car parks. Both involve a short bus ride to the passenger terminal.

I can understand your reluctance to hand over your keys. I was the same until I tried it. However, I have used the “Summer Special” car parks for about the last three years and always found them to be OK. It is easy as you just leave your keys at reception and your car is brought out ready for your collection when you return.
We use Maple manor meet and greet parking service . Never had any problems .
We left our keys at Gatwick and although all was well, and the car was ready for us when we came home, I did notice cars being shunted all over the place as they were constantly rearrange to get more and more in.

Some were left on steep banks, put out in open fields, and others left bumper to bumper in an access road. Its more about how they treat the car while you're away which you don't know about.

I too would prefer to pay a few quid extra and know where I've left my car in the main car park.
As far as I know, Compare Parking Deals offers best Meet and greet car parking in Gatwick. Here is the link https://www.compareparkingdeals.co.uk/
