suitcase - hold luggage (100ml is the limit for hand baggage). You can't take it on board unless you have bought it the other side of Customs. Much much easier, IMO, to buy it when you get there!

Hi. Thanks all. Think your right boxtops.Easier to buy when I get there.
No liquids can be carried in hand luggage unless they were purchased after security (or are essential medicines or baby foods). The only exceptions are those in containers holding no more than 100ml, and where all such containers are placed inside a single clear 'sandwich bag':

Aerosol cans are not, per se, banned from hold baggage. However flammable liquids are prohibited from being placed in the hold (irrespective of whether they're in aerosol cans or not) so, if the airport authorities take the strictest view of the matter, that would exclude hairspray from being carried.

tip: always pack full aerosol cans in the hold luggage, half empty ones can explode in the case and ruin clothing etc.,
its a fecking flame thrower potentially, where were you born....

thanks again everyone.
no need to be so rude DT it was a genuine question and as you can see by the answers received its still open to interpretation.
still going to play safe and buy it there.
we used to have our small gaz cannisters branded on the back of tickets as verboten.

Dont take it to heart samuelcat, but I would have thought a modicum of common snese would have said underneath.....and even before the present troubles, which I admit are confusing and, in some cases, ridiculous. (esp when it comes to medicines etc).
I'm off to a hairdressing products expo and would like things to go as smoothly as possible. With this in mind could someone advise where I could buy snese, common or otherwise, to ease things along? :)
Oh. now I just look mental since DT's post has gone. Incidentally I think D.T. might be apt tonight. :)
I think Boots do small "holiday size" of shampoos, conditioner etc so they may do one.
I f the spray goes in the hold always wrap anything that might leak in a plastic bag then it cant ruin your clothes.
Do you really need to spray your hair whilst in flight ? just asking, dont want to appear rude, how long is your flight ?
Yes, you can put a 300ml can of hairspray in the hold. It makes no difference either if it is full or half empty. It rarely leeks as it needs pressure to make it expel. You can take it in the cabin if it is less than 100ml. I use a little 75ml Elnett hairspray which goes in my cabin bag no problem.
*leaks"
I can tell I had been up all night when I typed "leeks"
