Brighton to London Bridge tomorrow morning is a Thameslink train? And how do I tell which are the Thameslink trains when I return same day. Thameslink crashes on me when I try to find out and I can't see the info on BR or Cross Country. I bought my tickets on line and didn't know they were for TL only. Perhaps Chris is around? Thank you.

Ladybirder, when you said you were going to London I guessed you were going to one of the big hospitals. I'm so very sorry to hear your news. Not just fingers, but everything crossed for you. Let me know how you get on. x

When, roughly, do you want to return?
trainline gives you that info
Most/all of the direct trains from London bridge to Brighton seem to be thameslink

Thank you Toorak so much. I still can't see where you are getting the info from but I'll take your word for it. Afraid I am very stressed at the moment and realising I may have inadvertently restricted myself to certain trains hasn't helped. Hope to be returning between 15.30 - 17.30.
Ubasses thank you. I hope it is on time tomorrow but they have had trouble today, at least one cancelled this afternoon.
CC I avoid Trainline on Buenchico's advice but thank you anyway.
Your question largely seems to have been answered. However you can find the train operator for any service by entering your journey requirements here
https://www.nationalrail.co.uk/
and then clicking on 'Details'.

For example, here's a screenshot of what you see when you do that for the service you asked about:

The train operator is shown at the bottom.

The full Thameslink timetable between Brighton and London can be downloaded here:

Don't get too stressed out Ladybirder, when you get to London Bridge station you will see electronic boards displaying the trains, times and platform number, so will be easy to find the right platform for your train home.
Yes. According to National Rail Enquiries it is the Brighton-Bedford Thameslink Service calling at Burgess Hill, Wivelsfield, Haywards Heath, Balcombe, Three Bridges, Gatwick Airport, East Croydon, London Bridge , London Blackfriars, City Thameslink, Farringdon, St Pancras, West Hampstead, St Albans, Harpenden, Luton Airport Parkway, Luton, Leagrave, Harlington, Flitwick and Bedford.

Return trains on this Thameslink route leave London Bridge at 3:35, 4:05, 4:35, 5:05, and 5:35

Thanks Chris. I shall keep those for when I have to book again. Incidentally, that's two people who have shown me a link and on both the price is a whole 10p cheaper than I've paid tut;-) I used Cross Country who don't charge a fee. Odd.
Ubasses thank you again. I don't know how I ended up with a TL ticket only; I certainly don't remember choosing it. Oh well, what's done is done. Live and learn etc etc etc.
Question Author
That's useful, thank Canary.
you'll also find London Bridge a lot easier to navigate since it was redesigned.

So I hear Jno. Only ever been there once in my life many moons ago. Waterloo was the station I used when I worked in London.
it used to be a nightmare because it was two separate stations built next to each other in Victorian times, with a high wall between them to stop passengers switching from one line to another. Amaazingly, the mess lasted from then till now, but apparently the money the station got from seling the land for the Shard next door went towards finally sorting it out.
Question Author
I've got a picture of it on my phone so I don't get lost;-)
Ladybirder, I did make enquiries about you when you stopped posting for a while. I hope all is well.
St Pancras is easy to navigate from as well, if that is any help. depends where you are coming from..

Oh Naomi thank you for asking, nice to know someone missed me;-) I'm afraid all isn't well. I'm off to Guy's Hospital today to see if my lung cancer can be operated on as the tumour is v close to my heart. Still in shock and trying to come to terms with it. Been an awful summer, losing both my beloved pets and now this. Must get ready to go and cross your fingers for me please. xx
LB so sorry to hear of this, take care and let us know how you get on.
