Is it safe, do they speak much English and how long to stay to see all the sights? Thx

it is safe. It's fairly touristy, so they speak a fair amount of English in the old town and the big hotels nearby. You could easily see the old town in a day. Go for a walk around the top of the old walls, about a mile and a half.
