Make sure you eat by the lock, the food stalls there are better than the food by the stables.

Have fun, it's great.
Keep a close eye on your bag/purse
Keep your wits about you, there are loads of thieves & pickpockets preying on that area.

Thanks all - off to bed now - early start tomorrow!!
Havent got any tips because i know you'll love it there.
So much going on and great canal walks -- its one of our favourite places and have been several times. have a good time and enjoy!
Pick pockets are every where, but, yes, watch out for them as Camden Lock is a bustling place.
Bring a camera, have a couple of beers/spliff and chill out - it's great there :-)
I'm glad you asked this, I'm hoping to go on Monday if it's open! :)
Voddie, here's the website. I was always under the impression it was a weekend market but it seems that it's open in the week too, just probably not in it's full glory, I only ever go on a Sunday myself.

Enjoy, it's great, you'll see some fabulous sights ;)
I could go on Sunday, it may be better then lol My train gets in to Laaaandan around 12 so I may just head straight there. Thanks RR xx
Sunday will definitely be a better way to go.

Word of warning though, if my memory setves me right, you can get off at Camden tube on a Sunday but in the afternoon you can't get back on, you'll have to walk to another station (Mornington Crescent or Chalk Farm), could have all changed recently though, we usually drive in.

Back from our day out! - absolutely shattered! I have never ever seen so many people in one place - it was heaving - and more foreigners than brits but I'm glad we went - loved all the arty crafty stalls - and the food by the Lock was gorgeous. Think I'll go again Feb/March time - it might be a little less crowded!
Glad you enjoyed it mayennaise, it's certainly an eye opener. The food stalls on the lock are fab, I usually look for the jerk chicken one, the my like the Argentinan steak sandwiches.

If I ever win the Euro millions I'm moving to Primrose Hill so I can visit more regularly :)

hat a coincidence Rocky - Mr Mayo had a Jerk Chicken wrap from the Jerk stall and I had a steak sandwich from the Argentinian stall!!
Keep your money safe...notorious for pick-pockets apparently !
keep all valuables hidden, watch your back, lot's of thieves around the place.
i confess i don't like the place, it's dark, dingy and definitely not my cup of tea, and it isn't because i am old. I have visited with friends who wanted to go there, so showed them round, but not lately. I remember what the area was like long before it became the market, family all lived around that area.
