Just doing some investigating for possible trip... friend has just come back and she stayed at The International Palms Hotel.
Has anyone else been and can recommend any hotels?
Thomas Cook do The International Palms, and price wise, with flights is not too bad.

many thanks.

I have not stayed at the International Palms Hotel The last time we went we stayed at the Quality Inn Plaza , on international drive which is central for all the resorts . The point about this destination is that , you wont be spending a great deal of time in the hotel ( or you shouldn't be ) - all you will need it for is a place to rest you head at night , after hectic days ....

The last time we went we stayed at the Quality Inn Plaza , on international drive which is central for all the resorts .

The point about this destination is that , you wont be spending a great deal of time in the hotel ( or you shouldn't be ) - all you will need it for is a place to rest you head at night , after hectic days .
Therefore , provided the hotel has good ameneties and is clean , then that is all you need .

What i would do is get the operators brochures as soon as they come out and look at what is on offer .
Things like free child places get snapped up faster than the speed of light.
I've been twice and stayed at a private villa each time. I would recommend it. You have your own pool, plus usually the garage has been done out to make a games room. The villas are very roomy with a kitchen to die for, not that we ate in much as it was so cheap to eat out. Also you get a washing machine and tumble dryer and a nice big drive to park your nice big car!

I was originally going to get a villa, but then a friend said that staying in a hotel is better for the kids as they'll have other kids to play with etc... But thinking about it, being able to just relax and be peaceful beside your own pool is very appealing! And of course having a washing machine!

10clarionst.... 11 times!! Could you recommend a good company to book a villa through? Cheapest option as on a tight budget! Many thanks.
I've been 3 times and stayed at the Disney resorts which are fantastic especially if you've got young kids the Disney transport system is brilliant too (dead easy and efficient) look into a package with Virgin Atlantic it's all done for you
I wouldn't worry about the kids having other kids to play with. When we went we had a fantastic FAMILY holiday. The kids were fine with us, they loved the pool (one of us kept an eye on them) and the games room. There was also a TV with DVD player (we bought a few box sets whilst there, but our DVD player at home does play US DVDs). And any 'down time' was appreciated by us all as a lot of the time we were out in the theme parks or at Fun Spot for go-karting or playing mini golf. Why not visit your local travel agent and ask their advice.
We've stayed twice, the second in a villa at Fantasy Villas, the first time at a really cheap Econolodge west of the park so we missed all the massive q's turning left to go to International Drive. As someone has already said, you'll be sleeping there, that's all, so we've always been happy to stay cheap and cheerful. Don't disregard flights to Standford, again you can avoid massive q's by driving a bit further,
