I was ready to book seemingly the ideal holiday for me in a locally rated 5* hotel (brochure rated as Premium Plus) but discovered there is no tea / coffee making facilities in the room. There is free wifi in all rooms, however.

I am somewhat surprised - would it put you off going?

Is this hotel abroad or in the UK?

It might put me off
Question Author
In Lanzarote. I could not imagine waiting for breakfast for my first cup of the day.
It wouldn't put me off, if it's in the UK and you're driving just chuck a kettle and some teabags in the car, if it's abroad then I wouldn't expect it anyway.
Just been thinking, I don't think I've had tea making stuff in a hotel abroad before.
Outside of the UK it's not often you get a kettle in the room; they want you to buy tea and coffee from the bar I have a travel kettle which I carry with me (only 0.5L) as I'm the same I need my tea when I wake up.
It is not normal for hotel rooms abroad to provide facilities for tea making, so we always take a travel kettle, and make our own.
As a big tea drinker I would initially be horrified, but on holiday I do not drink tea at all, it tastes strange. Do take your own teabags/coffee, and travel kettles are quite cheap.
Ooh yes, the travel kettle, mum takes her's whenever she goes away.
Umm, I had to think about that one. if it was abroad then probably not.
We also (somewhere ) have a heating coil device which fits over a mug and boils the water inside in a trice. Pop in a tea bag, find your carton of UHT milk pillaged from a cafe and you're off.
hc; as it's a 5* you could always contact them and ask them if they could put a kettle in your room, it's worth a try.
I will only have fresh milk in tea and consequently never bother making tea in a hotel room unless they provide fresh milk.

I wouldn't be overly bothered.

Travel kettle is a good idea. I can keep fresh milk in the mini bar.
Thanks all for the replies.
I read the title and thought you were going to treat us to the 'Goblin Teasmaid' storey.
