New PC's generally have a wizard for these. If you buy the correct USB lead (both ends plug into a USB socket, rather than one end being different) just plug in and follow instructions. Alternatively get a separate hard drive and transfer manually. A separate hard drive is always handy so you can back up stuff.
sorry bout the hijack
postie, lovely to see you again

sorry saab :-)

you are very welcome to the Tornado transfer tool for nothing
just put Bobbisox in the search box and scroll down
Assuming that you have a a router, you don't need to buy anything.
Connect your new computer and your old one to the router
Create a folder on you old computer and use Microsoft Easy Transfer to prepare the files to transfer, selecting the new folder.
Share the folder
Go to the new machine, connect to the shared folder
run Microsoft Easy Transfer, selecting the folder on your old machine as the source.
Done.
