Cd rom keeps crashing!!

i have this cd rom which came with a book, i used it about 3 months ago once, without any problems then. But today it keeps crashing. It there something i should be doing to avoid this?

tried that doc, still no good, got another pop up window stating...Run time error, programme e/egu exc & abnormal program termination
