AutoArchive in MS-Outlook

All trace of the “AutoArchive” function in my MS-Outlook seems to have disappeared.

On the “File” menu where I expect to see among the options “Archive” to enable me to autoarchive the option is missing. On “Tools – Options – Other” where there should be some Autoarchive options there are none. “Properties” for individual folders should have an “Autoarchive” tab but they do not.

I cannot seem to be able to restore these options. Any ideas ???

Yes it is, CF.

I'm running it with Vista and have been doing so for about three years. It's always worked a treat (I AutoArchive about once a month). I noticed this problem when I last created a personal folder (I was unable to set the autoarchive properties) and when I investigated further the other functions had disappeared.
MS are aware of the problem and update KB2412171 has been pulled now until it's sorted out but users who's computers had already installed the update will have to manually remove it.

It will also seriously slow down the speed of outlook while navigating around folders.

Heres how to remove an update on Vista.

Thanks CF.

I'll just steel myself with a cup of tea and a chocolate Hobnob and then give it a go !!
I think you'll find that since KB2412171a, Office 2007 no longer supports Hobnobs. You could try Abbey Crunch or (if desperate) Garibaldi.

Sorry, forgot to express my thanks, CF.

Removed the update as you suggested and the Archive facilities are now restored. Had a bit of trouble on the initial re-boot after making the modifications, but all is fine now. Many thanks.

Despite your worries, rojash, the Hobnobs were fully compatible with the update (although I had to have three before full functionality was restored). Thanks for your concern nonetheless.
