My laptop broke recently, the screen went black however I can still use it if I connect it
to my TV via a VGA cable, they both run on Windows XP but my new one has very few
fonts on it but my old one had loads, somebody told me I could take off the fonts on the old lappy put them onto a memory stick and transfer them to the new one but I haven't
got a clue how to do it, would someone be kind enough to give me rough step by step
instructions.

On the old computer, go to C: Windows > Fonts ... find the fonts you wish to transfer and simply drag them to your memory-stick.

On the 'new' computer, open the memory stick (E: F: whichever) and drag them back to the C: Windows > Fonts folder on that machine.
Or you can download a few from here for free (there is a limit of how many you can get for free). I like the "Sci-Fi" ones:

Ensure you only copy the ones you really need. Having a lot of fonts can slow down a computer, in particular at start up.
