i have just found this site spotify,with my slow dialup speed(45kbps)is it possible it thinks i am off line as this keeps coming up?

More than likely. It would be tricky to stream music with such a low speed.

Spotify offer 3 streaming speeds.. (with the fastest only being for premium customers) the speeds are

* q3 (~96 kbps)
* q5 (~160 kbps)
* q9 (~320 kbps)

So no, a 45Kbs connection is not going to enable you to stream even at the lowest rate (96Kbs)
