How do you transfer and store the contents of a CD/DVD permanently onto your computer?

Depends what is on the CD/DVD.

Is it music, movie, data files etc.

Auto-Cad drawings for Blast & Fire Proof windows.
Make a new folder on desktop, call it 'cad drawings'.

Explore the CD/DVD and copy the lot to your C drive.

Even batter if it is stored on a back up drive.
The info will then stay there until the drive dies.

Always backup vital info on two different mediums.
