I can recognise AA's talent but his photographs don't really 'grab me' in the way that the works of, say, Henri Cartier Bresson or Martin Parr do.

Yes, love them. If ever you go to Yosemite visit the Ansel Adams shop - they offer a free photography lesson - it lasts about 4 hours - they show you where he took some of his most famous shots.
