TV Problem

Hi all. I've got a problem on my TV tonight that I can't resolve and I'm looking for help. Basically, I've got an old analogue vcr, a sky box, a freeview box and a DVD recorder connected to my TV via scart leads. My area has had anologue tv switched off months ago, but I've left the old vcr in place as I don't use it.
I normally record a program from sky on my dvd recorder by switching on the VCR followed by the DVD recorder and selecting L2 as the tv channel on my TV. The TV screen shows my DVD recorder and I record via the DVD recorder remote control.
Tonight, when I've switched on my DVD recorder, I've got a perfectly still frame from a QVC program on the screen whereas it should be showing me the sky channel. I can playback recordings already on the recorder on the channel, but when I press record on the dvd recorder, it will only record the still. I can't understand where the still has come from. Removing the scart from the back of the freeview box gives me a blue screen on all channels.
Can someone help a girl in distress please?

I should have made clear that in the second paragraph, I'm referring to the L2 channel on the TV rather than the normal sky reception I receive by selecting 5 on my TV remote control. The picture via the recorder and other gubbins is a bit more fuzzy than s when I select 5.
Sounds like your freeview box has crashed.

Unplug the power from it fro a couple of minutes.
Slight modification to the above answer...It might not be the freeview box, but it does sound like something has crashed.

switch the whole lot off at the wall for a couple of minutes.

Thanks Chuck. The still has now disappeared but I've got another problem. My L2 channel is now showing the freeview programs and as this channel is connected to the DVD recorder, the recorder will record freeview. I need to record Sky.

I'm mystified why the recording channel has changed from SKy to Freeview just by switching the Freeview box off!
Does your tv have 2 scart sockets? Plug freeview into one. Plug sky box into input socket on dvd recorder. Connect output socket on dvd recorder to the other socket on tv. If you don't use vcr, remove it from all connections. Save electric and maybe cut down on signal interference.
Hi unigirl do as TTG says but leave the VCR where it is & buy a new lead with scart at one end & 3 leads at the other end = 1 Yellow (video)
1 Red & 1 White. Have a look at the front of your DVD Recorder & you should have a dropdown flap & if you look behind that you will see the appropriate sockets to plug into. Then when you wish to play the VCR alter the input on the DVD remote control & the VCR will play through the DVD Recorder. Ron.

I should have said change input of DVD Rec to AV3. Ron.
Why would you want a sky box and freeview all connected to the TV. All the programmes you get on freeview are on Sky.
Would it not be more convenient to get Sky+, that will record two programmes at a time and you can record them to your DVD recorder.

Cowboy.
