My Niece's MSN account has been hacked, we think by one of her so called friends as the messages sent out supposedly from my Niece contained personal information. We want to find out who sent the messages, does anyone have any idea how we can find out who did this.
Any help appreciated

Almost always caused by one of two things....

1) using a bad password ( http://www.usewisdom....mputer/passwords.html )

2) the user going to some site somewhere that tells them it will let them know who has them blocked on MSN and all they have to do is enter their username and password into the site (giving the owner of the site full access to send spam from the account whose details where entered)

Get your neice to change the password on the account, use a decent strength password and don't type the details into any other site no matter what it promises to tell you.

Already changed her password to something very strong. It was a strong password in the first place but her friends knew it.
Any suggestions on how to find out who it is that hacked it? IP address etc?
Thanks
You never will for sure ... 100%
Give up on that idea.

Just use strong password and don't be silly enough to give away pass in future.

I feel like you are accusing me of being silly, albags. My 12 year old Niece unfortunately wrote her password down by her pc and will not be making that mistake again.
I'm 15, it's happened to me before when I was about 11l. Unfortunately there's no way of knowing. I only knew because I'd just recently had an argument with my cousin over msn that very day. She knew my password, so I just simply changed it and never told anyone what it was. Not even my cousin ;)
Maybe try asking whether she's had a fight with a close friend who knows her password.
