Anyone out there that can help.
Set skype account up fine all working, but person on other end can see me but not hear me.
I have religiously followed instructions to try and correct the problem, but with no joy.
Any ideas gratefully received!!

have you checked your microphone settings, I had this prob.

trt, thanks yes I have and all showing as they should be.
Have you done the test call thingie? you make a test call - you get to hear what is said and are then asked to say something - then the recording is played back and if you can hear what you've said all is well - if not Skype is not configured correctly.

Carm, thats exactly the problem, dont get the test message back audibly, so followed corrective remedy and that still did not work!!
Do you have another microphone you can try?

To eliminate whether it is a hardware or software problem.

Grom, camera and mike all internal off laptop!!
have you downloaded the latest edition of Skype - I remember having a problem with my video but after I upgraded to the latest all was well. At the risk of stating the obvious, the mute button isn't on is it? Sorry can't be of more help - let us know how you solve it.

Carm thanks. Yes very latest version, and mute off. On test levels where it shows about 7 bars to be filled by the green level mine shows only 1 and it cannot be increased in any way! Again thanks for the help.
Try uninstalling then reinstall, cant think of anything else, good luck.

To all of you kind folh out there who offered me advice I thank you. It appears my internal mike on laptop just not good enough to pick up my voice. I have invested £6 at Argoose and all now is fine, again thanks to you all.
good stuff- bet you were happy to fork out the £6 after all the hassle!
