No idea of that handset in particular, but most allow you to store the numbers on the SIM card or on the handset memory. It is a case of following the menus until you find the reference and then selecting the delete to remove the old settings from the directory.

Make a nice cup of tea, sit down, and play through the menus. Better still if you have a paper manual, or can find the info on the Sony/Ericsson website as that might guide you.

My guess is that he handset it set up to find the number in the handset memory rather than the SIM memory, but best delete the number from the handset memory altogether.
Generally what you are lookinf is to go into contacts, find the one your daughter listed as 'Dad' and then 'EDIT it - usually under something like 'Options'. There you can keep the number - if you want - and just change the name. If you want off completely then under 'Options' you generally have DELETE too.

Also might be your daughter might have listed him on the phone memory - which is what the caller display is picking up so might be worth synchronising the two to find any differences

Thanks all. It must definately be in the memory. I have tried everything but to no avail. I will have to try and download the instructions cos she can't remember where they are ! Typical. When I look in contacts the only one listed as dad was my dad. I have even changed it to his name to avoid confusion but it's too confusing for me. I like things to be easy and straightforward lol

Yippee ! My son has just done it for me. Thanks anyway to you all who gave advice.
That's ok; I'm just trying to recall what the first 2 replies were. Mild black humour I think, weren't they ?
