Hi Ab garden experts! Do you know if now is a suitable time to be planting a couple of rose bushes? OH and I picked them up for half-price at Homebase just now, and we're going to plant them anyway and see if they make it through to next summer. If they don't, well, they were only cheap so we won't shed too many tears.

But when is the right time to plant rose bushes? I'd be interested toknow.

Many thanks, Chox.

Usually if Home Base or any other garden centre are selling roses - that means you can buy them and plant straight away...
I hope you have planted them at the same depth as they were in the pot and keep them watered in dry weather and you should be ok. You could give a feed of growmore around the plant also and hoe gently into soil.

Oh, many thanks, both. I will take your advice and plant them now, as deep as they are in the pot. That's fantastic. I will have to ask OH to dig the two holes, I am sure he won't mind. Really appreciate the advice. Chox.
